Hello and welcome!
My name is Desera Niivila and I run
Dazzleme Kennel with the help of my husband, Paul and our 5
children. We are proudly active in conformation and breed only for
the betterment of these 2 breeds we love, the Miniature Pinscher
and the Great Dane. We believe in breeding only to improve,
enhance and carry on desired traits of the Miniature Pinscher and The
Great Dane. We strive for perfection in health... Temperament... Brains...
and Beauty all wrapped up in one package whether for competition or
just as your family pet and fellow couch potato.
We abide
strictly to the Canadian Kennel Club's Code of Ethics. Loving the
Miniature Pinscher breed since 2000, we later ventured into the show
ring and took group 4th at our very first show with a beautiful 6 month
old puppy! Boy, were we Hooked!
I mostly owner-handle my dogs with the help from my oldest
daughter and the occasional help from a fellow minpin enthusiast Debbie
and our friends over at Kammick
Newfoundlands. In a very short time we
have been very successful with Multi-group placings and Multi-best puppy
in group wins!

About our breeding
program...
MINPINS - We are proud to say that
we are raising and showing all the accepted colours the miniature
pinscher comes in; Red, Stag Red, Black/Rust and
Chocolate/rust. Unfortunately we are one of the only show
kennels in Canada to raise and show the Chocolate Miniature
Pinscher. As a responsible breeder that not only cares about
this breed, but cares about EVERY acceptable colour this breed comes
in, I have made it my goal to join the few that
are working on improving the conformation of chocolates and I
refuse to let them be left at ringside.
To those looking for
show prospects; Some of my Miniature Pinschers carry the
liver gene (chocolate/Rust). If you are looking for a show dog that does
not carry this coat colour gene, I will be happy to recommend you to
another breeder. I do DNA my minpins for coat colour inheritance and
know which ones carry for chocolate and which ones do
not. I disclose this information on each dogs
individual page. For more information regarding chocolate minpins,
Visit our page: 'Why
Chocolate?'
GREAT DANES - Our goal is to raise and show
the best quality BLUE and BLACK Great Danes we
possibly can. Please note that we will not have any Great Dane
puppies for quite some time but we would be happy to refer you to
someone!
ABOUT OUR BREEDING
We only breed a litter
when we are looking to add to our family, breeding program and for
the show ring. Sometimes we have a few litters planned for the
year and sometimes only one. It just depends on what
we are looking for. I charge only a fraction for puppies what I
actually spend on caring, training, showing and health testing our dogs in
order to have a successful
HEALTHY litter.
So take a look around and feel free to contact me with
any questions you might have regarding these wonderful breeds or the sport
of canine competition!
Take care,
Desera at
Dazzleme!
About Desera
Niivila...
Desera graduated
from Confederation College form the Developmental Service Worker Program
and she is lucky enough to work in her chosen field as a support worker.
Right now She works only nights doing 11pm - 7am, 5 on and 5 off. These
hours allow her to be home with the dogs and the family during the day
everyday.
She has also finished her second year at Lakehead University
in the Honors Bachelor of Social Work program. She is not sure if she will
continue her studies at LU at this point as she is quite content with her
current job and raising the family.
About Paul Niivila...
Paul successfully
completed his trade apprenticeship as a Truck and Coach Mechanic and works
full time in his field as a licensed Mechanic holding the
position of Foreman. Paul also works part time for the
"Family Business" as a mechanic for Niivila Timber, owned by his father.
Though Paul is not "hands on" when it comes to the dog shows, he is the
official "cheering section" and the "home support" while Desera is
away at the shows.
About the
kids...
Together they have 5
children, one boy age 15yrs and 4 girls ages 13, 11, 7 and
5. All the kids show interest in junior
handling. The oldest girl helps handle the dogs in the 'big'
ring and has successfully pointed some of the Miniature
Pinschers. She can now also boast that she finished
the latest champion, CH Weeskelf Tatianna in Feb 2009! It truly is a
family affair!
